Swagger (Deluxe Edition)
Long overdue, Swagger is being re-issued on Limited Edition Green Vinyl and a Deluxe Double CD with bonus tracks, covers, live versions and remixes. Fresh from the success of 2024's Hombres, which reached the UK top 10 album chart and went to Number 1 in Scotland, Gun continue their comeback with this revitalised edition of Swagger.
Originally released in 1994, the album featured their hit single âWord Upâ, a cover of the Cameoâs pop song that they transformed into their own tongue-in-cheek hard rock banger which charted all over Europe and went to the top 10 in the UK.
This Deluxe Double CD package contains a 24 page booklet with brand new liner notes written by Joel McIver featuring an interview with Dante (vocals) and Giuliano âJoolsâ Gizzi (guitar), plus archive photos from the original singles.
Disc 1 features the original tracklist plus bonus tracks including covers of âAre You Gonna Go My Wayâ (Lenny Kravitz), 'Killing In The Name' (Rage Against The Machine) and 'Panic' (The Smiths). Disc 2 features a
selection of live tracks, special edits and remixes spanning the bandâs entire career, opening with live recordings from Glasgowâs Barrowlands in 2022 and an array of chopped up and remixed hits. âWe always did
12â remixes, even on Taking On The World and Gallus, because clubs loved playing them⊠we loved going into the studio and breaking the song apart and putting in new partsâ (Giuliano âJoolsâ Gizzi). The third album of a long lasting career, Swagger represents the band at just one of their many high points. Gun are constantly ready to reinvent themselves and their approach to making music, always thriving under pressure, and always ready to release new material with as much swagger as ever.
