Room Of Lights (Yellow Vinyl)
Crime & the City Solutionâs debut full-length album, âRoom Of Lightsâ, reissued on yellow vinyl, a part of a vinyl reissue series via Mute.
Following their âThe Dangling Manâ EP and âJust South of Heavenâ mini-LP, âRoom Of Lightsâ was originally released in 1986 and featured the line-up of Simon Bonney, former Birthday Party stalwarts Mick Harvey and Rowland S. Howard, Rowlandâs bassist brother Harry Howard, and drummer Epic Soundtracks (formerly of Swell Maps and Jacobites).
The album includes the remarkable âSix Bells Chimeâ, which caught the attention of acclaimed German filmmaker Wim Wenders, who invited the band to perform the song live in his 1988 masterpiece, âWings of Desireâ.
The album showcases great creativity filled with tension and marks the last release featuring Crime & the City Solutionâs âLondon line-upâ.
