Take It To The Bridge (Vinyl)
Don McGlashan — one of New Zealand’s best-loved songwriters — will release his first live album, Take It to the Bridge, this August.
Don won fame with the iconic groups The Mutton Birds, The Front Lawn and Blam Blam Blam, and has continued to fly high with four acclaimed solo albums — Bright November Morning was his first number 1 album.
At the heart of it all, though, is Don’s passion for storytelling, and he’s already working on his next album, scheduled for release next year.
More than just a souvenir of the nationwide tour, Take It to the Bridge captures Don’s songs in their most intimate form. The lean, nimble lineup of Don on guitar and horns and Anita Clark on violin and vocals elevate each performance with quiet intensity.
His live performances are moving, ghostly, transcendent.
